Todays’ google scholarship standard, that every other muslim meets, has produced some incredibly evil people, and all these evil people do, is critique others. We find the left wing claiming that Ibn Taymiyyah was a deviant of sorts. Not only do they falsify statements and misinterpret his works, they bring false proof from his contemporarys claiming they also thought the same, on top of that, we have modern day “scholars” who claim the same manhaj as Ibn Taymiyyah, that are now distancing themselves from him.

The claims as expected are many, the shaikh wrote thousands of risalahs, and the critique is expected, but how much of Ibn Taymiyyah is really known by these very people. ASKING FOR PARDON FROM ALLAH – IBN TAYMIYYAH ON MAGHFIRA AND ISTIGHFAR

The servant is always in the blessings of Allah, which necessitate thankfulness, and in sinfulness, which requires seeking forgiveness. Both of these matters are required and essential for the servant at all times, as the servant does not cease to alternate between Allah’s (various) favours and blessings, and does not cease to be in need of repentance and seeking forgiveness.

This is why the Master of the Children of Adam, and the Leader of the Pious, Muhammad, (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) sought forgiveness in all circumstances. He said in an authentic Hadith reported by al-Bukhari:
