Imām Sa’īd b. Al-Musayyib – Allāh have mercy on him – once saw a man praying more than two rak’ah after the beginning of Fajr, making many bows and prostrations, and so he forbade him.
The man said, “O Abu Muḥammad, is Allāh going to punish me for praying?” Sa’īd said, “No, but He will punish you for contradicting the Sunnah.”
This is one of the superb answers given by Sa’īd b. Al-Musayyib – Allāh have mercy on him. It is a strong weapon against heretics (mubtadi’ah) who recommend many different types of religious innovation in the name of them being dhikr and prayer. They then criticize the followers of the Sunnah for criticizing them, and accuse them of censuring dhikr and prayer, when in fact [Ahl Al-Sunnah] are only criticizing the contravention of the Sunnah in matters such as dhikr and prayer. … More WISE SAYINGS OF THE SALAF – ON BID’AH – INNOVATIONS & MATTERS NOT FROM ISLAM – RIGHTEOUS PREDECESSOR SPEECH

True misguidance is that you approve now what you used to repudiate before (because it was wrong) and repudiate now what you used to approve before; and be aware of changing colours in the religion, for the religion of Allāh is one.

If you knew that you had 10 hours left to live and in order to live another 3 days you had to give away all of your wealth, you would immediately do so. That’s why we all consider life to be so precious. You do not own any of these moments, as you sit and read this now, the time elapsed is not owned by you, you do not have the capacity to bring anything into existence; you cannot even create a fly. You do not deserve another moment of your existence because it is not yours; you do not have the ability to produce life, even for a second. In sha Allah the reader has so far understood the reasoning behind the differences in fiqh, first of all the majority of the issues are minor ones, and secondly for any opinion that we may deem wrong can now understood as an pinion that was developed for their respected scholls based on the evidences and using the methodology that their school follows. In sha Allah we can reconcile that the differing opinions have excuses for them, and many of them are a mercy for us all.
MEANING THAT EVERY STUDENT OF KNOWLEDGE THAT FOLLOWS AN OPINION FROM ANY MADHHABM THAT IS BACKED BY THE QURAN AND SUNNAH, IS NOT ERRING UNLESS ANOTHER OPINION IS SHOWN TO THEM WITH GREATER EVIDENCE BACKING IT.

The first thing that every married Muslim must realize is that one’s spouse is first and foremost another Muslim. He/she is one’s brother and sister in Islam. Therefore, at minimum all rights that fall upon a Muslim due to the general brotherhood of Islam are also due to one’s spouse. It is a sad situation for a Muslim brother or sister to respect their Muslim brothers and sisters outside of the house but for the situation in the house to degenerate into less even than that minimum standard of respect and kindness inside the household. Therefore the first step is for every Muslim to open some of the books about respect, manners (adab) and courtesy towards other Muslims and to realize that all of those principles apply to their partner in their house.
