Alhamdulillah,
Many times the student of knowledge comes to a point where they either think they have outgrown their teachers or that the knowledge that they are lerning is something they already know.
The book in the link below by Shaikh Bakr Abu Zayd, deals with exactly that phenomena, it goes in to detail point by point, speaking about all of the characteristics a person must have, to become a true student of knowledge and not a pretending student of knowledge.
I have not found a better book translated in to the English language that deals with the exact science, if you want a book on etiquette and morals, if you want to learn the Adab and Ahlaq of the Ulama, read this book.
