Alhamdulillah,
Sometimes we only need to read a little bit of information to get a huge deal of benefit from it, Allah blessed this ummah with scholars like Mountains, and of them was Imam Adh-Dhahabi rahimahullah.
Imaam adh-Dhahabi (the student of Ibn Taymiyyah) rahimahullah said:
فالذي يحتاج إليه الحافظ أن يكون تقيا ذكيا نحويا لغويا زكيا حييا سلفيا
“That which a scholar/student of knowledge needs to have is:
- – Taqiyan [possess fear of Allah (taqwa)]
- – Dhakiyah [be intelligent]
- – Nahwiyan [firm in Arabic grammar]
- – Lugawiyan [firm in Arabic language]
- – Zakiyan [pure in action and/or intentions]
- – Hayiyan [shy]
- – Salafiyyan [follow the way of the Salaf As Saleh]”
